Flying Bronze Sculpture

'Up, Up and Away' is the concept inspiring this life-size bronze sculpture of a boy who clearly exhilirates in the rush of launching a glider on a summer day. Click on 'larger view' to notice the detail, such as the fine fingers that balance a glider (weighing 42 lbs.) a second away from take-off. The piece shown is #4 in a series of 10 available to be commissioned by sculpture artist Derek Wernher. (#4 is just sold 7/10/05, #5 is presently being cast.) One is available for the public to enjoy at Gasparilla Inn, Boca Grande, Florida. Three are in private art collections.
