 Moshe Sendowski |
"...the image of a woman as a creative power,
a symbol of motherhood and fertility."
Moshe Sendowski
Should you ever have the privilege of visiting the Jerusalem residence of the President of Israel, you will find Moshe Sendowski’s “Ruth the Moabite” on steady exhibit.
You’ll find more of his exquisitely polished sculptures in private collections, galleries, museums and civic centers throughout Israel, including the City Hall in Haifa, The Bible Museum and Israel Convention Center in Tel-Aviv, among many others. He is beloved in his country as a master craftsman of fine bronze sculpture. Sendowski’s most recent exhibitions have taken him to galleries in Paris, France in 2004 and 2005.
Moshe Sendowski is a soft-spoken man who has dedicated his life to his art, teaching and supporting his community. He graduated from Oranim College as a senior teacher of arts and is an active member of the Israeli Painters and Sculptors Association.
He was a founding member of Kibbutz Haon. Today, he lives and creates in Kiriat Bialik, just north of Haifa. But it is the beauty of his art that transcends borders and touches lives around the world.
The Sendowski style ranges from partially figurative to abstract sculpture. He works in a variety of materials, including stone, wood, marble and bronze. The human being is his favorite subject, most especially the image of a woman as a creative power, a symbol of motherhood and fertility. His sculptures are formed with soft, tender and rounded lines and shapes. They are strong and lovely. A Sendowski sculpture brings grace and beauty to any working and living setting.
